A Night of Unity and Purpose: $10,000 Raised for the Lincoln Heights Museum
A vibrant evening: The Weed Community Center banquet hall was filled with our supporters, making our May fundraiser a resounding, sold-out success.
For those of you who missed the event, we always appreciate donations to help us reach our goals.
Our May fundraiser brought together 157 community members from across Siskiyou County in a strong show of support for the Lincoln Heights Legacy Project. The evening featured a lively silent auction, live auction, cake auction, raffle ticket sales and custom T‑shirt sales, creating an uplifting and successful community event.
We were honored to welcome Jerimah Sims from College of the Siskiyous as our guest speaker. His message added inspiration and depth to the evening, reminding us of the importance of community, history and shared purpose.
Guests enjoyed a beautifully prepared dinner catered by Mt. Shasta Supermarket, featuring their famous tri‑tip and rosemary chicken.
Why This Fundraiser Matters
The Lincoln Heights Legacy Project was created in response to the devastating Roseburg Mill Fire, which destroyed much of the historic Lincoln Heights neighborhood — a Black community built by our forefathers who came here seeking opportunity and created a home filled with strength, culture and resilience.
Our goal is to build a museum and cultural center in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood to preserve this history, honor the families who built it, and ensure that our children and grandchildren know the legacy that was started long before us. We are committed to protecting these stories so they are never forgotten.
