The Lincoln Heights Legacy Project (LHLP) is moving forward with our mission to conserve and protect the history of our neighborhood, originally known as "The Quarters." We are the stewards of this story, and we have several major updates to share regarding our progress.

  • Official Nonprofit Status - We are officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation! We have received our EIN from the IRS, which allows us to open a bank account and begin formally accepting donations to fund our work.

  • Securing the Black Hawk Site - We are in the final stages of acquiring the land where the Black Hawk Club once stood. This site was a central hub for our community, and it will serve as the future home of our museum and cultural center.

  • Funding and Partnerships - The McConnell Foundation has verbally committed to funding 20% of our project costs. Additionally, we are working with local leadership to utilize Mill Fire settlement funds to build our community center.

  • Our Website is Live -  You can now visit us here to see our archives and updates. Soon, we will have the ability to accept direct donations through the site to support our ongoing efforts.
