Looking Ahead: Our 2026 Plans
Draft invitation for our fundraising dinner.
This summer is about gathering our community and ensuring Lincoln Heights is recognized for its vital role in American history. Here is what we have planned:
Launch and Fundraising Dinner on May 29, 2026 - Join us at the Weed Community Center at 5:30 PM for a kickoff dinner. The event will be catered by the Mt. Shasta Supermarket and MCed by Victor Martin. This is an opportunity to meet the board, ask questions and help us raise the initial funds needed for the museum. Buy Tickets
Juneteenth Celebration on June 19, 2026 - We will have a booth at Charles "Charlie" Byrd Community Park. We plan to have LHLP merchandise available, including T-shirts.
National Register of Historic Places - We have begun the official process of applying for Lincoln Heights to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is a key step in protecting our neighborhood’s geography and legacy.
Weed Reunion in July 2026 - We look forward to seeing many of you during the July reunion! We will be present to record oral histories and collect artifacts for our digital and physical museum archives.
We are recording and safeguarding our history because it belongs to us. We invite you to join us in this work.
